Never one to be pigeonholed, Rob Thomas a.k.a. Phonetix (pronounced "foh-net-ix") has put together a versatile discography under a number of guises over the past decade, encompassing a variety of genres.
First noticed when DJ EZ picked up some of his material & started giving him exposure c/o his Kiss 100FM show in early 2005, Phonetix (then known as Robbie T) began working with Riddler Records & quickly established himself as a regular name on the UK club circuit - remixing for the likes of Kele Le Roc, Matt 'Jam' Lamont, Majestic, Jamie George, Control-S & Robbie Glover. His tracks soon started getting heavy rotation on Radio One from DJs like Raskwame & the Wideboys, with DJ Q (of TQD) representing on 1xtra. Rob's high output & growing fanbase led to guest appearances on Kiss 100FM, 1xtra & the BBC's Asian Network & he later went on to host Ministry of Sound's 'Essential Garage' show. During this period, he also found time to produce tracks for the Wideboys' Garagejams & MOS, as well as composing for Pinhead Games.
Some years & many pseudonyms later, Rob took over the helm at Riddler - a move which afforded him the artistic freedom to try his hand at different styles. His abilities in doing so have since taken his music to a wider audience, with support from & comparisons to numerous DJs & artists in various genres who have inspired him along the way.
