Phonetix continues to push boundaries using the signature sound with which his name has become synonymous – dropping the long-awaited album, Jazz Step FM. Creatively fusing traditional Jazz elements with 2 Step, Phonetix has refined a trademark sound which bridges a gap between the two styles; drawing inspiration from a plethora of contemporary peers & respected figures from yesteryear alike.

 

The 16-track LP was written, recorded, engineered, produced & mastered by Phonetix himself in his home studio during lockdown. It features a raft of talented collaborators – from the alto saxophone stylings of Brendan Mills, to the soulful vocals of soul singer Harsh, & the deep spoken-words of MC Cobra. Laura Alice & long-time supporter Brainz lend their likenesses to some interludes which weave the tracks together.
